Hold!

Our baby plans in our blog "Two Mommies + Baby" is on hold due to the fact we are not financially stable enough to care properly for a child. We have decided to wait until we both earn $44,500 to have a child. From the costs of living in the safe suburbs, to buying quality baby products and accessories, quality private daycare and schooling, college fund savings, extra-curricular activities, family vacations, Christmas & birthday presents and things like bicycles, rollerblades, ice skates etc we realize we would be silly to begin now.

We earn enough money to pay our bills, enjoy a nice dinner out, some nice clothing, new technology etc but not enough to sustain a child. So, we have decided to put our family plans on hold. In the meantime, we are focusing on finding a home in a safe, pleasant community (with free parking) where we can raise our dogs + 1 cat for now. I am thinking of getting a degree after finishing college, and my fiancee is graduating in May 2011.

My fiancee doesn't like cats but I want an exotic one like a Himalayan cat and I want to get it after we get our dogs so they can become friends. I'd name her Hera. I also want a large dog since we've always had smaller dogs (Pomeranian, and Pug respectively). I'm thinking something friendly and down-to-earth like a Lab or Boxer.

Moving out (again) is very exciting to us. Living at our 'rents has been less than fun with the lack of privacy, although having our car and more spending freedom since we are rent-free is a pay-off. Raising pets is very time-consuming and fun, and would take my mind off making a family for now.

A lot of my friends I knew from HS (high school) have gotten pregnant and have kids, are single moms and have these young dads for their kids instead of going to college/university and getting careers and cars and a nice social life. I love these girls but I'd hate to end up like that--making stupid decisions that impact the rest of your life. There is no age to be a perfect mom or pop, but you should be financially and emotionally ready, imo.

I posted some cute pet pics!!!! Oh, and check out the funny Funny Cats videos on YouTube. Seriously funny.
